Tihana Zubek
- Born in 1966 in Zagreb to a family of musicians
- Her talent for music was discovered when she was 6 years old and was awarded solo parts in the children’s choir
- At the age of 10, she sang for the soundtrack of the most famous Croatian children film “Vlak u snijegu” (Train in the Snow)
- At the same time, she was recording with the Zagreb Radio Television’s Children’s Choir
- She started active engagement in folklore, performing as a dancer and singer. In the 20 years of her involvement with folklore, she has gained knowledge of traditional songs and dances of Croatia and neighboring countries
- At that time, she started cooperating with the Croatian Radio Television Tamburitza Orchestra. She has continued appearing in concerts, and participated in recordings and archiving of traditional and composed music with this renowned Orchestra to this day.
- She performs as a soloist, and is also an active researcher of traditional songs
- In 1993 she moved to Germany where she is actively involved in music, as a solo voice, and as a successful leader of various folklore ensembles and choirs
- In Germany, she has worked with Dunja Rajter for Hessische Rundfunk
- For the past three years, she has been working with the “Jane” Vocal Ensemble with which she has won a silver medal at the international vocal competition in Llangollen, Wales
- As a singer, she is a successful interpreter of pop, jazz, and ethno music, as well as of musical scores in many languages
- She also composes gospel and traditional style songs for choirs
